Free Sudoku Helper. Solve those little puzzles with ease!

I’ve been playing with this sudoku thing for a while and created a small Excel file in order to help me solve such puzzles. I’ve called it "Sudoku Helper".
It won’t solve the sudoku number games automatically, but will definitely help you. So, download the Excel file from here and enjoy.

Now, a few words how to use this tool:

The sudoku helper has four panes:

1. Game square;
2. Row helper;
3. Column helper;
4. Check square.

The Game square is the only place you can edit. There you enter the numbers of your sudoku puzzle.

The Row helper shows the available numbers for a certain row.
The Column helper shows the available numbers for a certain column.

At the beginning, when the Game square is empty, both the Row helper and the Column helper show a full set of numbers between 1 and 9.

Notice that if you enter a number in the sudoku Game square, this number simultaneously disappears from the corresponding row and column from the Row helper and the Column helper. This way, at any moment you know which numbers you can use for a certain cell.

Check what happens you enter the whole sudoku puzzle from the newspaper:

Let’s check the very middle empty cell from the Game square. The Row helper says that only numbers 2, 5 and 6 are available for that certain row where the middle cell is. The Column helper says that only numbers 1, 5 and 9 are available for the column where the middle cell resides. If we compare the two rows for that cell, it appears that only one number can be entered in this cell – 5.

Notice the two rows called Check row and Check column, plus the Check square. When you solve a particular sudoku puzzle, all the three should have the number 45 in all their fields and there should be nothing left in both the Column helper and the Row helper.
